Household Grid Connect Solar Power

How does it work?
Solar panels sit on your roof and are connected to an inverter. The inverter changes the direct current from the power produced by the sun hitting the panels, to an alternating current that is used by households and businesses.

The power is then fed into your electricity meter on the side of your home or office and then you are credited for the power produced by the solar panels.

How Solar Power Works

How you are credited, or how much you are credited, depends on your electricity provider.  An electricity provider is the company that owns your power poles and meters, they may not necessarily be the company that you pay your Electricity bill through.

In NSW we have three Electricity providers- Integral Energy, Energy Australia and Country Energy.

Each electricity provider can credit you differently depending on their metering structures;

They are either NET or GROSS Metering.

Gross Metering: Used by Integral Energy, this system records the total production of your solar system and then they deduct this from your Electricity bill.

Net metering: Used by Energy Australia and Country Energy, this means power made by your solar system is consumed in your house first and any excess is then fed into the grid and taken off your electricity bill.

Solar Power Metering

You can easily reduce your electricity bill with Grid Connected solar power for homes and business and commercial property. There are great incentives to invest.

Solar Electricity is the most effective way to reduce your energy consumption; as long as there is daylight you will be reducing your electricity.  With electricity prices rising every few months and no end in sight, you can protect your wallet and the environment at the same time- it’s about becoming smarter about our energy consumption and the effects on the environment.
